Step 4: Becoming Adept

The sole purpose of some men is to leave behind a magnificent structure in which future explorers will find themselves at the mercy of incredible genius and magnitude. Their cathedrals, buildings, shrines, and museum-like labyrinths render this magnificent power on to the beholder - if they are receptive. Fine-tuning your appreciation for original thinking emblazoned in a mighty structure is a simple process that makes all the difference.
Communication through symbol is the key. The spatial content of an architect's rendering is there to expand awareness. An important concept of the Alan Moore Graphic Novel "From Hell" is that buildings compose the reflection of everyone's sight, which condition the city to their works in a present sense and also continuously through time. This channeling of inspiration is what is called becoming 'Adept.' Adept derives from the Latin deponent verb Adeptus: "To Obtain." Obtaining new levels of insight from such wondrous domains will benefit the subtle framework of your own mind. That was the goal of the great Artisans and Craftsmen, who banded together in guilds and secret schools of teaching. 

The Canterbury Cathedral in Canterbury, England, is one of most complex and remodeled buildings for its time. Since its design by the early Twelfth Century by Frenchman William of Sens, various Archbishops have mandated reconstruction to suit their interpretations of the heavens. The interior is incredibly massive, with brilliant shafts of light and glorious stained glass windows. One of the additions to the building is a massive underground crypt, a Christian interpretation of Labyrinth. In Eastern Religious schools, the Labyrinth is symbolic of attaining spiritual bearings on the physical world. According to the Secret Teachings of All The Ages by Manly Hall:

"Labyrinths were symbolic of the involvements and illusions of the lower world
 through which wanders the soul  of man in its search for truth. In the labyrinth
 dwells the lower animal man with the head of the bull, who seeks
to destroy the soul entangled in the maze of worldly ignorance"

The shift in conscious evolution is the recurring theme of being "Under the Temple." 

Another wildly brilliant Architect is none other than Frank Lloyd Wright. His Taliesyn structures, and the accompanying student-designed cabins, contain large drawing rooms and galleries of miniature models of energy-efficient coastline structures.

The waterfall-powered house of Frank Lloyd Wright is the perfect integration of land and man. The interdependency brings a new level of organization and thinking. However, a renegade architect, Alex Jordan, is the true revolutionary foundation-sowing craftsman. 

Located in Spring Green, Wisconsin, The House on the Rock is the pinnacle of wonder. Secluded, towering, and charged with artistic soul, Alex Jordan's house is a three-wing maze of amusements. Instruments playing themselves are only a piece of the picture. It must be explored for yourself.

"Alex Jordan believed that sights and sounds were the most effective means of stimulating the senses. He wanted guests to question his creation, to come to their own conclusions and to turn his world of dreams into their own."

Not only will you question his creation, you will be cast adrift in a flurry of amazement.
In the "Secret Teachings," Hall discusses the Ancient Druids of Rome. The process of becoming adept - absorbing genius through your surroundings - is especially true for these secretive peoples - whose tenets of belief called the "Welsh Triads" list 'obtaining' as the first step. "The Welsh Triads tell us there are three objects of metempsychosis: to collect into
the soul the properties of all being, to acquire a knowledge
 of all things, and to get power to conquer evil."

Step 3: Synectic Bridges

Recently, a prophetic little book coincidentally made its way into my hands. Sometimes a book is classic for its age, but this book is a classic for its vault of suppressed ideas. Art Synectics by Nicholas Roukes is a sage-like manual on communicating incredible levels of connection between art and its audience. Synectics derives from the Greek word Synectikos: “brining different things into unified connection."

After sewing this glorious seed, Roukes continues:

"This is a term of creative thinking that combines imagination and analogical thinking in order to transform commonplace, familiar elements into new and unusual structures. Since Art Syntectics involve the process of fusing disparities, it demands tolerance for ambiguity and for the initial chaos that accompanies the process of mixing highly diverse elements”

Does this jog your memory?

Recess and Ocean's 11: Two tales of recurring, epic heists from an assemblage of individual specialties. Collaboration and synectics seem to go hand in hand. The next part is crucial:

"Synectic thinking appeal to the integrated brain: to the intuitive intelligence that stems from our emotional and psychological makeup, and to the logical and more rational brain that allows us to “nail down” feelings and perceptions into hard facts and tangible structures."

Nailing down hard facts into tangible structures: The word pontifex means "builder of bridges" in Latin. Usually a Catholic term, it applies to anyone that chooses to benefit mankind or other people on a daily basis. Alex Grey, the world's foremost transcendental artist, chooses to use the idea of a 'Chapel' to describe the unity he seeks to build: http://www.cosm.org/. Similarly, the Om-derived band Shrinebuilder is also a purveyor of unifying wisdom. This blog's title is also an underground or "under temple" community. To take pontifex to the next level, we must use the term templifex.
Templifexes will become conduits of truth to the observant eye. They will be the card-carrying result of which bridges can be made to. In this way, other pontifexes will kinetically strengthen the templifexes, Lightworkers, truthseekers and activists of every kind.
The skeletal construction of the underground will begin to strengthen to a new level of interconnection. From the framework only true, tightly-woven structures will emerge. Construction is only a matter of connections away.

Step 2: Disillusionment, Reconfiguration, Bearings

If your view of our universe is solid, unchanging and unbreakable, that's because the twisted forces of nature have yet to give you a swift kick off your comfortable plane of thinking. But, if you've ever questioned the nature of reality through an intense dream, enlightening experience, or psychadelic experimentation, then you've come to the right place. The space-metal band Orange Goblin know a thing or two about how mankind is missing the mark:

"And you know I've seen the future

And you know I've seen the past

And the human race is changing

Now we're living life too fast"

Once you begin to question what this reality is, like in Inception, you will begin with feeling disillusioned. Disillusionment is necessary in small increments in order to expand your awareness as a whole. David Lynch spoke of this earlier in the Creativity post. Some people will live their whole lives in the luxury box seats of the theatre, while the groundlings will find endless fascination and synthesis in the real, gritty thick of it. Keeping that in mind, it's not surprising that Orange Goblin has a song called "Your World Will Hate This." However, disillusionment can also be comforting, in that your mobility of thinking is no longer shackled down to a narrow frame of reference and you are free to explore anything and everything. This freedom to explore is the key to being alive, which is why the most "living" that people accomplish is at a young age of wondrous curiosity.
Alex Grey's wonder: 

While disillusioned, it is a key time to reconfigure your planetary bearings. Like plants, which grow around trellises instinctively, the human instinct is to be nurtured through ideas and creativity. Terrence McKenna prophetically says: "The imagination is the goal of history. I see culture as an effort to literally realize our collective dreams."

Establishing Blueprints

Artists with great intuition give powerful lessons of our universe. Their work oftentimes requires decoding. Training ourselves to recognize when an artist, director or author has such a message is one of the most important things we can do at this stage. In the continuum of movies and books there are bloated amounts of information. Our common purpose is to spread the words of unifying concepts like transcendental peace and unification. Now must train ourselves to select such movies, which contain information arranged much like a blueprint, that are revealed through concepts, plots, and metaphors. These movies we select must have the seeds to enlightenment. All that is required is fertile minds. We must ensure that the movies that we immortalize for future generations bear the juiciest of fruits.

What is a blueprint of transcendentalism? Let's look at the roots.

Trans = Latin for "Across"

Transcend = Rise Above, Exceed.

Transcendental= The invisible fabric of the universe's interconnectivity absorbed subconsciously in humans but, when "going across,"  obtaining higher levels of consciousness. In a way, leaving the human experience to understand metaphysical reality.

Guidelines For Blueprints

1. The story or album should begin the same way it ends. Watchmen is the classical graphic novel blueprint for this component, as it begins and ends with the Smiling Doomsday Clock with a blood splatter. The Pink Floyd Album "Dark Side Of The Moon" is the standard for this musical blueprint, as it begins and ends with a beating heart. Beginning the same way a story ends signifies that the incidents of the story were set into motion before it even began. Directors that understand this wish to blow your mind.

2. The character or subject should undergo a journey or internal struggle that questions reality along the way. The book "The Hero With A Thousand Faces" By Joseph Campbell is the blueprint for this requirement. It explains how in nearly every hero's journey, the realm of nonordinary realities delivers a vital lesson the hero needs to fulfil his task. As in reality, this can be done through internal realization or externally through a special chemical compound found in magic herbs or potions, usually given to the hero by a seer. In the Roman Poem the Aenid by Vergil, Aeneas travels to Hell in search of the epic shield. Badass characters can also be a requirement if you want.
3. Nature is illustrated as the source of enlightenment. In Aronofsky's "Pi," a spiral conch shell, and the perfect arrangement of an Ant's body are the catalyst moments to universal understanding and fulfillment.
4. Death is only the beginning. A classical example would be Star Wars: A New Hope when Obi-Wan sacrifices himself, out of understanding of the interstellar nature of death and to be the guiding force required for Luke Skywalker's dangerous mission. Joseph Campbell actually consulted with George Lucas on his initial movies.
5. Nature and Pure Characters have a symbiotic relationship. Once again, Alan Moore's Swampthing.
6. The struggle between good and evil (ying yang) is a neverending process.
7. Material greed is overcome and destroyed.

8. Righteousness of any kind.

Though it is an unusual suggestion you don't hear often, disillusionment is an important phase in being alive. After your reconfiguration holds new structures of thinking, a bearing to Earth will be achieved.  The band Om holds the blueprints to reconfiguration, obtaining bearings, and ascension, wrapped in confusing riddles:

"Approach the grid substrate the sunglows beam to freedom."

"Stillness breathes apex supreme - groundates toward the mountain."

Step 1: Acquire The Underground

When society degenerates, Anthony Burgess envisions in his A Clockwork Orange gangs of Ruffians fueled on milk, ultra-violence and supremacy taking control of the streets. The ruffians, addicted to pure adrenaline, are the masters of all counter-culture. Equipped with their own slang, uniforms and hideouts, these misfits are the template for running the streets. Original heavy metal band Black Sabbath accurately summarizes dystopia in the apocalypse-charged song Hole In The Sky:

"I've Watched The Dogs Of War Enjoying Their Feast,

I've Seen The Western World Go Down in The East.

The Food Of Love Became The Greed Of Our Time,

And Now We're Living On The Profits Of Crime."

The Counter Culture is nurtured through resistance to mainstream behavior, and that is exactly what is preparing itself to emerge. Lightworkers, as mentioned in the previous post, are aware of the potential for the counter culture to gain control of the harness of society in a way that would mirror the situation in A Clockwork Orange, minus the ultra-violence. One of our era's most profound Lightworkers, Terrence McKenna, anti-materialist philosopher, ethnobotanist and author, has left his entire life's body of work up to the hands of future Lightworkers to move forward with. On culture, McKenna says:

"We have to create culture; don't watch TV, don't read magazines, don't even listen to NPR. Create your own roadshow. The nexus of space and time where you are now is the most immediate sector of your universe, and if you're worrying about Michael Jackson or Bill Clinton or somebody else, then you are disempowered, you're giving it all away to icons, icons which are maintained by an electronic media.

...You want to reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash that's being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world." 

As a lecturer, McKenna also focused on aspects of Western Culture that are flagrantly counterproductive to our necessary transition into greater awareness. Among his targets is ego, one of the major hindrances of creativity:

"Ego is a structure that is erected by a neurotic individual who is a member of a neurotic culture against the facts of the matter. And culture, which we put on like an overcoat, is the collectivized consensus about what sort of neurotic behaviors are acceptable." 

As a Milwaukee youth, my exposure to counter culture was delightfully nurtured at a young age.

If you live in an area of one-track minded streams of personality, then you will be delighted to visit Milwaukee to stumble upon diverse sub units of frolicking peace-lovers that would otherwise be overlooked in our world of mass media dehumanization. Transcendentalism is all about the connection. Ants are one of the most cooperative species, and anyone who has seen the progress of an ant farm knows what figurative "direction" our species must go next: colonization from the underground to above.

While mass mainstream culture can identify with a "hive mind" mentality, it is the incorrect one. Counter-culture youth who stay true to their individualities are the catalyst to human colonization of many levels incorporated into one: socially, spiritually, and subconsciously. According to www.in5d.com, catalysts to the human consciousness revolution must materialize from sub-cultures:

"It is up to those who want this shift to connect with others of like mind and begin actively creating networks of real cooperation. The old will crumble. The new period will dawn with its growing pains, the severity of which depends on our ability to accept what is happening and go with the flow. This, he says, requires evolving to unconditional love, with an open and simple heart, forgiveness, and cooperation with less ego competition."
All that is required of us is brotherhood, love, and an unbreakable sense of community. Even existentialists are beginning to sense that cooperation with like-minded groups holds more power than one individual. Follow your nearest inspirational guide, whichever way their message of spreading unity takes. Phish concerts are a great place to witness this invisible trait in action. Ever heard of the movie The Warriors? Like a fractal pattern, even the tiniest of patterns is enough to replicate itself to infinite sizes:

Creativity: The Soul's Instinctive Blossoming

Like Aronofsky's "Pi" capturing the template of physical reality, and likewise "The Fountain" all of consciousness, our physical universe is comprised of unseen forces of energy. Obtaining such knowledge from your higher source of being, as David Lynch explains in the video on creativity, is the goal of every master. Alex Grey, our century's greatest prophet, is no low-level trafficker of information energy. He is a top-tier smuggler of high-volume energetic conceptualizations straight from the nether. Grey's 'Painting:'

 

"Universal Creativity,

Infuse my work with spirit
to feed the hungry souls."

Here, "Universal Creativity" is shown as an entity from behind, while the painter channels information as an energy conduit. Other famous painters are also watching the artist. The painter's easel is spilling with the painter's unfolding, glowing soul. Grey describes this process as well:

 "The highest motivation for creating art is Transcendental Inspiration,

Which naturally arises out of Spiritual Intoxication."
At birth, every human is an inspirational conduit. As an infant, I remember looking at the cross-hatched wallpaper above me, and seeing the lines squeeze and ebb like earthworms, inciting a waking nightmare. At birth, humans are the ultimate energetic sources housed in pure, blissful soul. Humans remain conduits of inspiration by maintaining the following:

A) Altruism. Wanting to help others spiritually will expand your capabilities, as altruism enlightens, and is the seedling of all transcendental forces. 

B) Purity. Recognizing that most of the universe is to be experienced, instead of labeled and classified, develops your ability to harness inspiration in new forms.

C) Intuition. Expanding your consciousness through meditation will give you intuition- the natural instincts of 'what to do next.' It can not let you down.
D) Love.

Alan Moore does not make light of this creative process either:

"I've always sympathised with Brian Eno's theory, that if you were a mechanic you'd want to know what to look for under the hood if the car seized up. I'm dependent on writing for a living, so really it's to my advantage to understand how the creative process works. One of the problems is, when you start to do that, in effect you're going to have to step off the edge of science and rationality."

Alan Moore would also be considered a high-volume energy-information trafficker. There's also Surrealist painter Salvador Dali. From the introduction of his book:
“I am the tool! Dali said to me one day, and this tool is that of an artisan: he who digs to the bottom of his trade, he whom centuries of skill have perfected, disciplined, and strengthened, and the tool of good usage, the tool of tradition, ...crazy to go to the farthest point, to the deepest spot, to the greatest crazy with attitudes."

Creativity is the ultimate untapped power for all of mankind. Opening this vault can realign everything in one's life. Creativity is a process of absorbing (subconsciously) and interpreting (consciously) that, for artists, synchronizes every facet of their life into a divine masterpiece. For many people whose inspirational gateways have yet to be opened,

 Fear not. Artist Luke Brown has plenty of room in his inspirational gateway for yearning minds to enter:

These artists must be put to the forefront of our culture's role models. In ancient times, right-brained cultures thrived and depended on imagination (See From Hell post). In modern times, fragmented perceptions of each other and of our place in the universe are disjointing the brilliant transcendental connections we should be experiencing. Artists, writers, directors, and those in pursuit of delivering their understanding of higher transcendency are known as Lightworkers. According to www.in5d.com, a meditation website:

"Lightworkers are people who have chosen to seek spiritual knowledge and have made the choice to do their part to assist Earth and Mankind in their ascension.

Lightworker is a term given to those who are actively on the spiritual path. ...It is when the individual makes the conscious choice to begin their spiritual path and assist others that they become a Lightworkers. 

One by one, lightworkers with incredible intuition are becoming activated for the same common purpose this blog is dedicated toward. These lightworkers have a body of work that contain the ultimate templates to our consciousness. And now, high-grade wisdom siphoned from the scintillating seraphic spheres of Alex Grey's art psalms:

This weekend, I had a life changing experience. At a party on Orchard street, a guy from Madison Area Technical College had accompanied his friends to a party of UW Madison kids. They called him Rainman. While he appeared ragged, his viewpoints were astonishing. He spoke relatively plain, with a slight husky drawl, glowing with a strange hint of something I could not seem to trace. He was arguing that man has the power to change the planet on a personal level.
"What is that in your voice, I'm feeling something in your voice, what is that?" I urged him.
"Have you been enlightened?" He asked, fixing a serious gaze through me.
"No, but I'm on the way," I replied.
"Then you know what it's about." he spoke. It clicked. Rainman was enlightened. He was speaking with unmistakable experience in his voice. I was locked into the resonating grip of his words.
"I can say something, and telling it to one person could change the whole world," he said. 
"No it couldn't," was the reply from his opponent.
"Humans have the ability to change everything."
"He's absolutely right," I said automatically.


Thus far, I've explained that the pineal gland syncs our dreamworld with our physical bodies. Similarly, death is the ultimate stage in perceiving reality. Alex Grey depicts this incredible awareness:

Lebanese poet, artist and prophet, Khalil Ghibran, writes in his famous poem "The Prophet:"
“For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one. In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond; And like seeds dreaming beneath the snow your heart dreams of spring. Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity. Your fear of death is but the trembling of the shepherd when he stands before the king whose hand is to be laid upon him in honor. For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?”  ...It is life in quest of life in bodies that fears the grave.”

 What is this all about? Reaching enlightenment. Allow the professional to explain:

David Lynch Speaks on Consciousness and Creativity

“This pure Consciousness is called by modern physicists the “Unified Field.” It’s at the base of all mind and all matter. This field has qualities: bliss, intelligence, creativity, universal love, energy, and peace. It’s the experiencing of it that does everything. ...Enlightenment is the full potential of all of us human beings" - David Lynch.


What is he saying? There is far more to this reality than we think. Rainman's enlightenment became a spiritual life vest to me, as his words locked into my being with incredible power and synchronicity. I had never heard of nor experienced this, and immediately became living proof that words could change the world. That night, I felt the shift in me, which became the foundation to the awareness of my own true potential and ability to convey this message to others. Milwaukee artist and MIAD student Ben Grauer represents the hypocrisy of adults' misleading words and actions, while true awareness is derived from unifying wavelengths:

 David Lynch's theory of "golf ball" to "basketball-sized consciousness" is best exemplified by his 2008 Movie "Inland Empire." This movie is the ultimate labyrinth, and to wade through its tense and twisted plot is to stretch your experience to the edge. To dissect a David Lynch movie, which are up to 100% individual interpretation, one can categorize characters by their degrees of 'earthly presence:'

Main Characters: Usually in the third dimensional, physical universe climate, accustomed to seeing time from start to finish.
Phantoms: These may be characters bordering the dreamworld, and sometimes materialize in reality by a glitch in the fabric of time-space. (Mulholland drive: The nightmare in the alleyway, Inland Empire: the terrifying face).
Operators: These characters are aware of the full plot in ways the audience and other characters do not grasp, even after seeing the movie. They see time simultaneously. They may operate in any point in time, between realms, or create a glitch in the fabric of time-space. (Erasherhead: Man with levers, Mulholland Drive: Albino Cowboy, Lost Highway: Albino man).
Crones: These women have clairvoyant abilities that allow them to prophesize trouble in the realm of time-space, and warn the main characters ahead of time. (Inland Empire: Polish Gypsy-Neighbor, Mulholland Drive: Woman shouting "Trouble!")
Unraveling these movies can be very similar to unraveling Donnie Darko. Both types of movie have transcendental characteristics. With David Lynch, the level required for probing for the truth is more likely to completely dismantle your previous formation of perceptions.
Khalil Ghibran complements this philosophy that Lynch utilizes:


“Vague and nebulous is the beginning of all things, but not their end. Life, and all that lives, is conceived in the mist and not in the crystal. And who knows but a crystal is mist in decay?”

Darren Aronofsky

 

If you have not seen the Fountain, then you are most likely deprived of channeling the ultimate possible awareness of our position in the galaxy. Those who have seen it are usually displeased by the plot, because it is too enigmatic. That's simply because there is nobody on hand who can explain the concepts in the film. The concepts in the movie are extremely transcendental, and it requires the widest possible scope of this spiritual science to fully decipher. This 2006 Darren Aronofsky epic directly translates to the concepts already discussed in this blog, especially in the realm of Alan Moore. In the graphic novel Watchmen, Professor Manhattan is the superhero with ultimate capabilities in the spectrum of matter and time. He sees everything as happening simultaneously, exactly the way the fourth dimension contains all of time at once (see the third post about Alan Moore's "From Hell"). Edwin A. Abott, noted Shakespearean scholar, wrote the mind-blowing tale about the second, third and fourth dimension called Flatland.

What makes the The Fountain transcendental?

1. Three planes of time happening at once: the Conquistador crusades in Mexico, the modern day, and a timeless bubble through eternity. Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz's characters appear as different entities in all three. In the bubble through eternity, Rachel Weisz is represented as a tree, from which her character in the modern day time spectrum fertilized with her dead body.

2. Hugh Jackman seeks to scientifically cure any disease that kills humans through genetic technology. He is bitter and ruthless in his desire to find the cure to death in the modern day scenes, only to undergo intense spiritual transformations in the conquistador and bubble time frames. Before dying and being reborn in the first timeframe as a conquistador, he is killed by the Mayan Lord of Xibalba who says "Death is the road to awe." This becomes the book that Rachel Weisz's character writes in modern day and gives to Hugh Jackman to finish. 

3. According to the IMDB trivia, "Instead of using CGI, Aronofsky chose to do the special effects for the film by using micro-photography of chemical reactions on tiny petri dishes. He has said that CGI would take away from the timelessness of the film and that he wants the film to stand the test of time."

4. The death and rebirth of characters mirrors the Hindu / Buddhist concept called Samsara which refers to a stream of consciousness passing from the physical world and into the spiritual upon death, and that is the concept of immortality that Hugh Jackman realizes is even more powerful than living. When he understands this toward the end of the movie, the camera pans to the middle of his forehead, where his third eye is seated, and he then sees everything happen at once.

Point number 4 directly relates to the Pink Floyd title track off the album "Atom Heart Mother." As the song unfolds, an interesting blend of sound effects foreshadows the type of sounds in the 24 minute song. About 20 minutes into the song, the song replays itself in a sped-up backwards fashion that contorts reality. This section of the song is called "Remergence." Also the same concept as Alex Grey's representation of the soul's ultimate evolution:

"Death is the road to awe" is truly applicable to both life and death, since both are interconnected.

Aronofsky also defines the blueprints to our material world with his first movie, Pi. In Pi, the greatest concept is that of nature's perfect geometry. Desperately seeking to understand the patterns of the stock market, Max goes beyond the edge of his human experience to understand, albeit briefly, the ultimate relationships between spiral conch shells, ants, and the entire universe. Panning between shots in The Fountain, Aronofsky blends nature with greater images of the universe. Professor Tim Allen, at UW-Madison, also uses this concept to teach "Plants and Man," his famed class on rethinking our universe. Manly Hall writes:

"...Man himself, with in the narrow confines of whose nature they found manifested all the mysteries of the external spheres. Continuing this analogy, the universe was regarded as a man and, conversely, man as a miniature

universe. The greater universe was termed the Macrocosm--the Great World or Body--and the Divine Life or spiritual entity controlling its functions was called the Macroprosophus. Man's body, or the individual human universe, was termed the Microcosm, and the Divine Life or spiritual entity controlling its functions was called the Microprosophus."

This is a real doctrine of learning! The Occult aspect of society has been exactly that - hidden - and now the real identity of our spiritual selves is emerging to all through great researchers of our time like David Icke. Manly Hall continues:

"H. P. Blavatsky summarizes the pagan concept of man as follows: "Man is a little world--a microcosm inside the great

universe. Like a fetus, he is suspended, by all his three spirits, in the matrix of the macrocosmos; and while his terrestrial body is in constant sympathy with its parent earth, his astral soul lives in unison."

And, to cap off everything this blog has touched on so far, Blavatsky continues:

"This is the trinity of organic and inorganic nature--the spiritual and the physical, which are three in one, and of which Proclus says that 'The first monad is the Eternal God; the second, eternity; the third, the paradigm, or pattern of the universe;' the three constituting the Intelligible Triad."

Pi and The Fountain are great movies, and if you enjoyed Requiem for a Dream, I suggest you watch these movies immediately. They will rock you to the core!

Alan Moore and Om (Part 2)

While Watchmen is considered one of the greatest graphic novels of history, the Swamp Thing series delivers extremely powerful ideas in small doses, like the lyrics of Milwaukee-bred Damato Dali. When Moore was assigned to continue Swamp Thing, he revamped the character from a typical monster to a mind-expanding elemental with powers drawn from, and rivaled by, Earth. The comics are typically sold in volumes:

This is Moore's second volume, "Love and Death." and it explores the world through the eyes of the Swamp Thing when his human love interest, Abigail Holland, eats a tuberous root off him.

Voila! Out of body experience. Abigail and the Swamp Thing are intertwined in an infinite fabric of dissolving and expanding consciousness. The lessons in reality continue to develop all the way through the intense ending of Volume 4, and once again in Volumes 5 and 6. These are incredible works revealing the clashing of good and evil and its effect on nature's glorious, hidden interactions.

Of the transcendentalists, Alan Moore is most similar to Ralph Waldo Emerson. The most common theme is the unity of nature. This is also a large aspect of Om's Pilgrimage.

Before dissecting Om lyrics, a small disclaimer is needed. If you are not acquainted with the metaphoric imagery of Shakespeare, the lyrics may be slightly difficult to understand.

For example, in Pilgrimage, "Sushumnic Vertebrae" requires an understanding of Latin prefixes. 

"Sus-" -Under, before

"Humnic-" Of the ground (Humus)

Vertebrae- Spinal Bones.. or Roots?

Is the Earth unlike the skeletal structure if roots are its' bones? The glorious relationship illustrated by this line is a key aspect of transcendentalism.

Now, Pilgrimage requires us to revisit the third eye:

"Witness from mind and psychic sheath a guardian sun restrains the world projection."

What is the psychic sheath? According to Alex Grey, from earlier, it is this:

The chakra (meaning "Wheels of Light" in ancient Sanskrit) points in their vertical alignment determine our spiritual bearings on the planet. According to David Icke, "These 'chakras' connect through into other energetic levels of being beyond human sight."

If the "guardian sun" is our solar system's sun, then "restrains the world projection" could refer to the ancient philosophical belief that the sun determines our reality. 

According to the Secret Teachings of All the Ages by Manly Hall,

"According to Robert Fludd, the

sun has three properties--life, light, and heat. These three vivify and

vitalize the three worlds--spiritual, intellectual, and material.

Osiris represents the third, or

material, aspect of solar activity, which by its beneficent influences

vitalizes and enlivens the flora and fauna of the earth. Osiris is not the

sun, but the sun is symbolic of the vital principle of Nature, which the

ancients knew as Osiris. His symbol, therefore, was an opened eye, in

honor of the Great Eye of the universe, the sun" (143).

The human DNA is crystalline, much like the crystal transmitter-receiver found in radios and other conduits of frequencies beyond the human range of sight. The sun emits photons, which determine the crystalline structures of our bodies in turn. Reality can in effect be programmed by the sun! Let's read that line again:

"Witness from mind and psychic sheath a guardian sun restrains the world projection."
